Wisdom from Del: Agree with the Reality of Harmony

We begin 2026, Spirit in Action's 30th Anniversary Year, with wisdom and encouragement from SIA's founder, Del Anderson. Del was 90 years old when he founded SIA. We are never too old to keep learning, growing, and striving to create a better world. If the words don't fit your faith tradition, we encourage you to use words that are meaningful to you.

Agree to focus your attention on the All Presence, All Power of God, not your former failures. This is putting on the armor of God's protection and guidance.

Agree with the Truth-Principle: God is in control, not centering on your doubts, anxieties and fears.

Agree with the Reality of Harmony and do not give power to the seeming power of discord.

Agree to believe in and act on the best in others, not their worst.

Agree to trust the redeeming power in others and not center on the unholy desires and forces of people (one destroys, the other heals).

Agree with the Eternal Reality and Truth of God, not the human frailties of human selfhood.

Agree with the eternal qualities of life. Focus on the abiding Christ within persons. Your faith in people helps them to let the Christ penetrate and transmute that which is unlike Himself. Agree with the good within every soul.

Agree with the Christ in you, not the ever-changing panorama of outer conditions.

Agree to possess Life as an instrument of God and not accept being a servant to the adversary.

Righteous agreement and spiritual self-discipline move us into harmony with God. In each victory abiding in Christ, we receive a portion of eternal life.

As I grow into a channel for God, to be used by God to pray for others, I am not trying to "fix something" or make something happen or change things.

My privilege is to offer myself as God's lighthouse for God to shine through, lighting the "room" (consciousness) of the person with the need. This light God shines through us allows enough light so the one being helped can see their own "light-switch," press it, closing the circuit, or "tapping into" their own Divinity (awareness and receptivity).

We are not God's puppets for God to activate. We are God’s children, and within us, available to us, the same resurrecting Power that raised Jesus from the dead. The choice is ours.
