Some of our favorite things lately
I saw this on Instagram and thought it was a fun way to share some of the things on our minds right now. Feel free to share some of your answers in the comments!
A picture we love:

Anita with her pig (and cute piglets!), which she received as a member of the Tubungaire Women in Burundi. The women's cooperative collectively buys pigs for members, passing a piglet to another woman in the group so everyone can benefit and build household assets - and use the manure for their gardens!
Anita is one of 4 members who received a pigglet from another member this year. When we visited her in August the piglets were just about old enough to pass one along and keep the ripple of impact going!
A win we're celebrating:
We've welcomed 4 new monthly donors this year, bringing our total to 32! Thank you to all our many loyal and passionate supporters.
Something we're looking forward to:
An online learning session for SIA Grant Partners this week with guest speaker Samuel Leadismo from Pastoralist Child Foundation, who will share about hosting a fundraising gala in Kenya. We host Partner learning sessions every other month. [Editor's note: This actually happened today and it was a great success! 22 people attended to learn from this practical and motivating presentation about local fundraising.]

A quote we're thinking about:
These words of encouragement from SIA Grant Partner Ubuntu Community-Based Organization to their SIA friends in our WhatsApp chat group.

A person we're admiring:
I'm reading Priya Parker's new book, The Art of Fighting, about how healthy conflict, when handled thoughtfully and with intention, can help groups build a strong identity. She has so many good examples and tips on conflict resolution and facilitation that help you work through those tough spots that inevitably come up in groups, families, friendships, and organizations.
A clip we loved watching:
This welcome song, sung by the young women who are at the CAP-AIDS Uganda Home of Hope, was recorded by Jack Owuor, SIA Partner from Transformers Mathare in Kenya, who was in Uganda for work. The women are at the Home of Hope to heal and learn vocational training to restart their lives after challenge. We love when SIA Partners visit and learn from one another!
