(Oven Method) Makes 3 cups
1 cup brown rice
2 cups water or vegetable stock
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon granulated garlic
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon soy sauce
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spread rice in a 9 x 9-inch baking pan. Combine
water or stock with remaining ingredients and stir to mix. Pour over
rice. Cover tightly with foil. Bake until rice is tender and all the
liquid is absorbed, about 1 hour.
